Six Senses Southern Dunes
Umluj, Red Sea, KSA2023

Set along the historic incense trade route against the backdrop of the Hijaz Mountains, Six Senses Southern Dunes pays homage to Nabataean architectural heritage. Extensive teak and timber cladding gives the façade a natural warmth that settles the buildings into the desert plain.
The same language carries into the wooden soffits, integrated with special fabrics to recreate the sheltered intimacy of a traditional camp. A wooden bay sliding system opens the interiors to the desert, while timber louvres diffuse the light into a soft, balanced atmosphere.
