Miraval The Red Sea
Shura Island, Red Sea, KSA2026

Miraval The Red Sea is a 180-key, adults-only resort on Shura Island, designed by Foster + Partners with a biophilic, low-impact approach that winds through existing mangroves, lagoons and salt marshes. Deep, sweeping rooflines provide passive shading and create protected semi-outdoor spaces.
Noble Architecture designed and built a high-performance façade system that balances transparency with coastal resilience: large-format, ultra-slim wooden sliding glass systems dissolve the boundary between interiors and private decks.
Outdoors, Noble translated the native Samur tree (Acacia) into a hybrid steel-and-timber structure. A gold-toned mesh stands in for the tree’s fine leaflets, filtering the sun into dappled light; these “built trees” act as passive cooling devices for walkways and water features.
